Chair Polito called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. Councillor Richardson, K. Repka, and J. Solly were in attendance.

L. Peimann was also in attendance.

Request to update existing Terms of Reference

Revisions to the DC Task Force’s terms of reference are needed to effectuate the following recommended changes:

(i) Respecting deemed resignation due to accumulated absences, increase the allowable absences in a 12 month period from three (3) meetings to five (5) meetings. 

(ii) The preferred method of meeting will remain in-person, but a hybrid meeting may be held in extenuating circumstances.

Issue Assignment Reports

Each member presented a review of their findings related to the issues assigned to them.

A new regulation under the DC Act is expected to mandate definitions for local services. As a result, J. Solly advised that any concerns related to this topic should be addressed through that regulation.

B. Finney suggested the City should revisit its Community Improvement Plan (CIP) and add to it a variety of incentives for developers.

B. Finney will conduct additional research on CIP and report back to the next Development Charges Task Force meeting.

Proposed recommendations will be incorporated into the Issue Tracker and deferred to next meeting for discussion.

The next meeting scheduled for Monday, July 21 at 2:30 p.m. will be cancelled.

A new meeting will be scheduled for Monday, July 28 at 2:30 p.m. in the Weldon Room at City Hall.
