Brenda Stonehouse, Facilitator

Workshop for generating feedback on configuration and operation options

Brenda Stonehouse facilitated a workshop to confirm space requirements and configuration of a proposed Cultural Centre/Archives.  Using parameters presented in the interim report from Nordicity Consulting and Giaimo Architecture, Task Force members and staff discussed the composition and associated requirements of its possible configuration based on current requirements and cultural/craft sector comments.

The need for 4 quadrants within the craft/ creative space should include specifications for wet and dry studios, woodworking, practice and performance. Exhibition, meeting, storage, office, display, and education space supports the administrative, presentation and demonstration of creative industries.  Confirmation of 52,200 sqft with another 7,500 sqft for curatorial services rounds out the space identified by the consultants.  Additional sqft for entrance and other facility requirements complete the 65,000 sqft footprint under review.
