Chair Handley advised that the RFQ for consulting engineering services to quarterback the current pedestrian bridge project to the approved permit stage has been sent to interested parties. Quotations are due at the end of June.

Chair Handley discussed the possibility of routing pedestrian traffic on hydro property by The Locker. A request was sent to hydro and we are currently waiting for a response. Director Johnson advised that if Hydro is agreeable a land use agreement will need to be approved by the City Solicitor.

Director Johnson advised that Orillia Power Generation Corporation (OPGC) wishes to extend the current agreement to 2065 with no changes to what is currently in place. Director Johnson asked the Committee for feedback and the following items were discussed for the Director to bring back to OPGC.

1. Community Outreach

2. Site improvements to the building and grounds

3. Public access revitalization such as viewing platforms and signage.

4. Signing bonus

Chair Handley also expressed the expectation that OPGC provide unqualified support and willingness to work with City Engineering to provide any easements required to accommodate a pedestrian walkway on the east side of the bridge.

Director Johnson will follow up with the Committee after her meeting with OPGC.
