W. Bateman called the meeting to order at 4:10 p.m. with the following members present Councillor R. Ashmore, A. Adare, J. Garbutt, J. Skelton and M. Sloboda.

Staff Present: D. Soule, Economic Development Officer - Arts, Culture and Heritage, D. Harding, Planner II and S. Bullock, Planning Summer Student.

D. Carroll, R. Macklem

Kawartha Lakes Municipal Heritage Committee Meeting Minutes of May 2, 2019

    That the minutes of the Municipal Heritage Committee meeting held on May 2, 2019, be adopted as circulated.

There were no deputations.

There was no correspondence reviewed by the Committee.

4 Riverview Road & 3 St. David Street

J. Garbutt reported on the interest in a Heritage District expressed by residents in the Purdy's Mill area.

M. Sloboda pointed out that there was secondary history by way of the La Mantia family.

D. Soule pointed out that any request for a consultant to provide oversight of the potential designation would require permission of Council to hire an expert and fund the cost of the oversight.

D. Soule also confirmed that no letters have gone out to owners of properties to be placed on the list of properties of interest.

    That 4 Riverview Road and 3 St. David Street be added to the preliminary list for possible heritage designation, provided that there is sufficient historical or contextual value uncovered for the properties through the committee's research.

    M. Sloboda suggested that the Committee organize a search of the title to the properties.

The next meeting will be Thursday, July 10 at 4:00 p.m. in the Economic Development Boardroom at the Lindsay Service Centre (180 Kent Street West, Lindsay).
