Councillor Dunn called the meeting to order at 10:00am with the following task force members present electronically, Councillor Seymour-Fagan, Councillor Richardson, C. Richards, J. Ramsay, D. Mitchell, S. Lane, P. Naumienko, and J. Carr.

J. Johnson, Manager of Parks and Recreation, A. Locke, Communications Officer, and B. Harrison, Administrative Assistant, were also present electronically.

B. Robinson, Director of Public Works, sent his regrets.

Off Road Vehicle Use of City Roads Task Force Meeting Minutes - May 20, 2021

Peter Naumienko and John Carr have joined the ORV Task Force as new members and provided brief backgrounds. Councillor Dunn and the remaining task force members and City staff introduced themselves with brief backgrounds.

Councillor Dunn provided a verbal update on this report. Councillor Dunn will ask about this report at the upcoming budget and council meetings.

Reviewed and discussed second public survey results, with 66.4% of Lindsay residents opposed to a route through Lindsay. Ashley Locke to provide an overall survey result that includes the results from both surveys.

The ORV Task Force discussed how best to open up a connection to Ganaraska Trail and Victoria Rail Trail in the Pontypool area.

    • Porter Road from Telecom Road to Lifford Road.
    • Lifford Road to the rail trail.

The ORV Task Force discussed how best to open up a connection to the Victoria Rail Trail in the Omemee area.

    • Sturgeon Road S to Hwy 7;
    • Sturgeon Road N from Hwy 7 to Beaver Road;

    • Heights Road from Beaver Road to Mount Horeb Road.
    • Crosswind Road from Heights Rd to the rail trail
    • Hogsback Road from Mount Horeb Road to Ski Hill Road

The ORV Task Force discussed how best to open up a connection to the Victoria Rail Trail in the Lindsay area, this discussion did not include the original proposed route through Lindsay as that is before council.

C. Richards asked that the first and second survey results be combined to provide an overall percentage of those in support of and opposed to a route through Lindsay. A. Locke to gather this information and report back to the task force.
