The committee accepted Shelley's resignation and thank her for her time and help with the committee.

Not holding Doors Open event this year.  Plan was for it to be a partnership with Municipal Heritage Committee and Heritage Network. The Heritage Network are in the midst of changes this year so unable to provide support for the event.

The event doesn't have to happen every year, it can be done every other year.

Motion that the Municipal Heritage Committee does not participate in the 2018 Doors Open event.

    Carried

Tentative list has been compiled. Also have 20 signed letters of owners wanting to be added.

Under the Heritage Act it's not required to specify buildings or photos, some are going further to collect this information so not only address is noted in the list.  Suggestion was made to visit the houses, take photos, make notes on the list so if a demolition permit comes through there are no issues.  This would not be only for those properties that are designated, it would also include those stated as property of interest. We only have 60 days to decide if we think it is worth designating or not once a demolition permit has been requested.

GIS willing to add layer to show listed properties.

Distribution hasn't started yet.  Cross-reference research was started by S. Peeken and files shared with D. Soule.

Draft letter to property owners circulated to committee for input.

Awards ceremony on Sept 18th:

Reception for approximately 60 people to start at 11:30 a.m. as council starts at 1:00 p.m.

Have a summer student whose primary job is to amend the bylaws. Hope to get 50 done this summer. Committee member will accompany student when doing site visits to each location.

Properties are the LACAC ones as well as the last 20 years - working to make them all clear.

Action items list was reviewed and updated.

The next meeting will be Thursday, July 5 at 4:00 p.m. in the Economic Development Boardroom at the Lindsay Service Centre (180 Kent Street West, Lindsay).
