180 Kent Street West renovations update - Jocelyn Gill, Supervisor, Capital Project Delivery

Update was provided regarding:

renovations being undertaken at 180 Kent Street
Olde Gaol portico designs
City Hall Phase 2 renovations
Removal of east wall at the Olde Gaol property - Building & Property are bringing in archeological consultants to help assess this property
updating existing signage at Coronation Hall and Oakwood Library
Stone wall at Bobcaygeon library
Fenelon Falls Museum improvements for an accessible entrance

    RESOLVED THAT Building & Property staff report back to the Kawartha Lakes Municipal Heritage Committee regarding paint removal from the bricks on the 180 Kent Street building.

Report back on Council decision re: Kinmount United Church - Debra Soule, Economic Development Officer - Arts, Culture and Heritage

The report recommending designation of the Kinmount United Church was approved at Council at the January 30, 2018 Council meeting.  We will now proceed with Notice of Appeal.

41 Melbourne Street, Lindsay

The property owner from 41 Melbourne Street W., Lindsay was not in attendance, therefore this item will be deferred to the next committee meeting in March, 2018.

D. Soule opened the nominations for Chair of the City of Kawartha Lakes Municipal Heritage Committee.

    RESOLVED THAT William Bateman be appointed as Chair of the Kawartha Lakes Municipal Heritage Committee for 2018.

D. Soule opened the nominations for Vice-Chair of the City of Kawartha Lakes Municipal Heritage Committee.

    RESOLVED THAT Jim Garbutt be appointed as Vice-Chair for the Kawartha Lakes Municipal Heritage Committee for 2018.

    W. Bateman assumed the role of Chair at 4:07 pm.
