L. Manning called the meeting to order at 1:03 p.m. D. Wilson, S. Podolsky, A. Radey, M. Hutchinson were in attendance.

Jim Armstrong of the Kawartha Works Community Co-op made a presentation to introduce the Co-op to Committee. Invitation for communities to utilize the Co-op to help get initiatives off the ground.

Coboconk-Norland top successes:

    • Wellness Centre
    • Norland Management Committee
    • Obtained management of Lions Park in Coboconk
    • Increase of use of parks
    • Increase in visitors to area
    • Great local facilities
    • Beautification efforts

Coboconk-Norland top challenges: 

    • Community capacity and leadership to implement plans
    • Community out-migration of long time residents + visitors

Fenelon Falls top successes:

    • Community leadership and capacity
    • Reconstruction of Colborne Street
    • Wayfinding Signage
    • Walking Tour
    • The Grove Theater
    • Sculpture Project
    • Beautification (flowers)
    • Business retention during COVID-19
    • Business innovation during COVID-19
    • New condo developments (in development)
    • Relationship with High School Co-op Program

Fenelon Falls top challenge:

    • Signage: wayfinding, entrance, highway

Lindsay top successes:

    • Reconstruction
    • Better snow removal
    • Heritage Conservation District

C. Arbour provided an update on key municipal projects related to the Downtown Revitalization action plans: Million Dollar Makeover, Digital Main Streets, collaboration initiatives and signage.

The Committee was led through a facilitated discussion to identify the key components of Downtown Revitalization that they would like to see included in the new downtown program framework.

The next meeting will be Thursday, November 18 at 1:00 p.m.
