The Chair called the meeting to order at 4:05 p.m.

    RESOLVED THAT the minutes from the Wednesday April 18, 2018 committee meeting be approved as circulated.

No complaints.

There was a small leachate outbreak on May 8, 2018 in Cell 3. Information on this leachate outbreak was circulated to the PRC and to the MOECC.

There was a spill on April 23, 2018 from the compost pond into the north ditch. Information on this leachate outbreak was circulated to the PRC and to the MOECC. The spill was sampled and analyzed. MOECC has given the City permission to pump from the pond into Lagoon 1.

Hard copies of the 2017 Lindsay Ops Annual Report were distributed to each member with appendices given on a USB drive. A PowerPoint presentation on the AMR will be provided at the June meeting. Staff asked that any technical questions regarding the report be sent ahead of the June meeting.

The option of having the Public Open House at the Lindsay Ops Landfill this year was discussed.

    RESOLVED THAT the Committee asks staff to formulate a motion for council relative to the public open house at the landfill and bring same back to the June meeting for consideration by the committee and that the Director of Public Works be advised.

The Waste Amendment Notice No. 5 was provided to the Committee. This notice was approved on April 19, 2018.

Staff will be accepting construction wood waste starting June 1, 2018 to be chipped and used as ADC. Staff will continue to look into other options for C&D recycling and inform the Committee on a regular basis.

B. Wilson notified staff that he had bags of garbage ready to be picked up and spoke about weed control on surrounding properties. He shared some photos of the garbage collected and ponding water near the Wastewater lagoons.
