B. Condie circulated a Memo regarding the renewal of three existing lease agreements that the City holds and the completion of a new lease agreement in Omemee for the new library location. The Memo included detail about identified accessibility concerns for the three existing locations and the accessibility features that are going to be available at the new Omemee Library location. B. Condie advised that the identified concerns have been provided to the City Solicitor for inclusion in a report to Council. Two members of the AAC have agreed to attend the new library location in Omemee and provide feedback on access.

B. Condie thanked Mary Ann Fitzpatrick for connecting her with members of the White Cane Club that may be willing to do a preliminary audit on the website platform and content before its anticipated roll out at the end of July 2017.

B. Condie advised that a letter of support has been prepared for the Chair, Mr. Price to sign to support the Jennings Creek Christian Reform Church in their application for elevator enhancements as they apply to the Enabling Fund.

The Age-Friendly Steering Committee has approached the City to apply for a grant from the New Horizons Funding Program. The Clerk’s Office agreed to partner on the initiative and an application was written and submitted on their behalf.

B. Condie advised that a Public Open House on Lindsay Transit was advertised in the City's Municipal Bulletin during the week of June 5th and 12th. The Public Open House will take place on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 1PM. The Committee was invited to attend.

B. Condie and N. Price shared information from their attendance at the Ontario Accessibility Forum in Toronto on June 1, 2017.

E. Peeters provided a review of the 2017 Accessibility Awareness Awards recognition luncheon and presentation that was completed at the Special Council meeting held on May 23, 2017. Councillor Strangway extended his congratulations to a very well received presentation of the Awards.

N. Price advised that both he and Dick Foster attended a photo session promotion hosted by the Rail Trail Alliance illustrating that the rail trail area in Lindsay is accessible for people with  disabilities.

Discussion ensued regarding the Logie Park five year phase in project.

Two Site Plans have been reviewed and there were no concerns to relay to the Planning Department.

There will be a new Splash Pad installed at Garnet Graham Beach in Fenelon Falls and accessible washrooms will be included in the refurbished canteen building. It is anticipated that the new facility will open to the public the third week in July.

Councillor Strangway expressed his sincere appreciation to the Committee for a well received Accessibility Awards presentation.

Councillor Strangway suggested the Committee revisit the proposed universal design symbol. He has noticed that there seems to be a lot of coverage on the topic. It was suggested that the topic be referred to the Public Awareness Working Group for further investigation and report back at the next Committee meeting which is scheduled to be held on September 21st.
