Tom Colliver, The Academy Theatre

A presentation on future plans of the theatre in relation to the proposed cultural centre

Susan Taylor provided a presentation on the history of the Gallery's participation with the Kawartha Lakes Arts Council to advocate for the construction of a cultural centre in the municipality.  Susan submitted a backgrounder as part of her presentation. Specific to the Gallery, it has been a tenant in the Main Branch of the Kawartha Lakes  Library (Lindsay) and has outgrown its space. She shared the 2024 financial support received by municipal Council and the Found family's donation triggered the Gallery's move to 19 Cambridge Street.    The Gallery is still interested in being a tenant in the Cultural Centre if built as well as possibly accessing shared collections space in the new facility.
