W. Bateman called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. with the following members present A. Adare, D. Carroll, J. Garbutt, and R. Macklem.

4983 Monck Road alterations

Posts on the porch were found to be rotten during the ongoing restoration project and are proposed to be replaced with pine replicas.

Jorg Peterson - Division Manager, Building and Property
Old Gaol Wall Demolition

J. Peterson provided an update by teleconference regarding the current status of the demolition of the Old Gaol walls and projects around the City Hall campus buildings.

Doors Open
Verbal Update

M. Sloboda provided a verbal update on Doors Open 2019. The event is taking place on Sunday September 9 and some additional volunteers are needed for a few of the sites. There will be a meet and greet for site organizers and volunteers on Saturday evening at Maryboro Lodge in Fenelon Falls.

Doors Open brochures were provided to members of the committee.

Members of the Pleasant Point Union Church are planning on submitting an application to designate the church and have reached out to Municipal Heritage Committee members and staff about providing research and scheduling a site visit.

Interest has been expressed by a member of the public regarding the potential designation of the Coboconk Lime Kilns and is being followed up with by the Municipal Heritage Committee and staff.

There was no correspondence reviewed by the Committee.

Heritage Procedures Presentation
Emily Turner

E. Turner provided a presentation outlining the procedures and processes for designation and listing under the Ontario Heritage Act.

Greenhurst-Thurstonia Waterfront Buildings

The Municipal Heritage Committee discussed the merits of several waterfront structures in Greenhurst-Thurstonia as potential heritage properties. It was decided that more information was required.

R. Ashmore will undertake some additional research to bring back to the committee at a future meeting.

Listing Properties on the Heritage Register

28 Albert Street Alteration Application

The property owner would like to replace wooden windows throughout the house with vinyl or aluminium alternatives.

E. Turner reported to the committee that the windows are included in the property's designation by-law as a heritage attribute and that the proposal did not include the windows in the tower.

This item was deleted from the agenda because it was addressed by the deputation in item 3.1

3 St. David Street and 4 Riverview Road
Verbal Update

Staff provided a verbal update to the Committee regarding the current status of the development proposal for the properties at 3 St. David Street and 4 Riverview Road.

E. Turner reported that a report to Council will be taken to the September 10 Committee of the Whole meeting as requested by the Municipal Heritage Committee.

The next meeting will be Thursday, October 3 at 4:00 p.m. in the Economic Development Boardroom at the Lindsay Service Centre (180 Kent Street West, Lindsay).
