The City Solicitor provided information pertaining to litigation commenced by Mapleridge Mechanical Contracting Inc. against the City, being Superior Court File 19-142 and obtained instruction pertaining to the same.

The City Solicitor presented information to Council for its consideration pertaining to the matter of the Mandatory Connection By-law Review – Report WWW2022-001 on the Council Agenda.

The City Solicitor presented information to Council for its consideration pertaining to the matter of the Appeal of Council Decision to the Ontaro Land Tribunal pertaining to 12 Mansfield Street, Bobcaygeon, and being Tribunal Case Number OLT-21-001765. The City Solicitor received instruction pertaining to same.
16.3.6 Report LGL2022-009
The City Solicitor presented an update to Council on the status of negotiations of the framework development agreement to be entered into between the City and Flato and associated with a Ministerial Zoning Order issued for property owned by Flato in Lindsay.

Item 16.3.7 Report LGL2022-010
The City Solicitor presented information to Council pertaining to the status of the appeals to the Ontario Land Tribunal, being case number PL171407, of Official Plan Amendment 13 and Secondary Plans to the City of Kawartha Lakes Comprehensive Official Plan 2012. The City Solicitor received instruction.
Item 16.3.8 Report CLK2022-005
The Integrity Commissioner’s Investigation Report IC-14166-0621 was reported to Council in Closed Session in accordance with Section 223.6 (1) of the Municipal Act, 2001;
The Integrity Commissioner concluded that Councillor Ashmore breached sections 9.2 (a), 9.3 (c) and 4.1 (a) of the City of Kawartha Lakes Code of Conduct and Ethics for Members of Council and Local Boards, and recommended penalties for the breach;
Council has directed that Councillor Ashmore receive a penalty as follows:
- suspending for 14 days (one pay period) his remuneration, including expenses, from the City commencing May 2, 2022;
The City will make the report received from the Integrity Commissioner available to the public forthwith in accordance with Section 223.6 (3) of the Municipal Act, 2001. The report will be posted on the City's website by end of day March 23, 2022.
