A. Hart called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. with the following members present Councillor R. Ashmore, A. Adare, W. Bateman, J. Garbutt, J. Hartman, I. McKechnie, W. Peel, and J. Pitcher. The meeting was held electronically on Zoom.

Staff Present: E. Turner, Economic Development Officer - Heritage Planning and D. Goodwin, Economic Development Officer - Arts and Culture.

Jamie Morris provided an overview to the Committee of a proposed active transportation project at Queen's Square. He also provided information to the Committee on a proposal to name several trees along Victoria Avenue North as heritage trees by Forests Ontario.

Heritage Planning Updates

E. Turner provided an overview to the Committee of the activities of the heritage planning program for July 2021.

E. Turner provided an update on the Old Mill Heritage Conservation District study. The character maps have been completed and the subcommittee will meet shortly to go over them.

Councillor Ashmore provided an update on the Pickerel Point Cabins Subcommittee. He has spoken to staff at Parks Canada regarding transport to see the cabins which have not yet been demolished.

Colleen Twomey

The Committee reviewed the correspondence from Colleen Twomey regarding the minor variance application at 1193 Salem Road. E. Turner clarified to the Committee that that she had spoken Ms. Twomey who was looking to have the by-law for her property amended to correct some errors and to add the viewscapes into the heritage attributes.

The Committee reviewed the correspondence from Tom Mohr regarding the graves at the Old Gaol.

E. Turner informed the Committee that R. Macklem had resigned from the Committee.

J. Garbutt provided an update on the Omemee bridge. He and Councillor Ashmore secured a portion of the bridge with the intention of creating a memorial to the old bridge. They are now planning next steps with regard to design and budget. E. Turner informed the Committee that any project would have to conform to the requirements of the City's Public Art Policy.
